Ok, so now i've got my little soapbox here at Early Bird i'm gonna put my two cents (tuppence, rather) in the hat and have a grumble. I love to have a grumble, about most things. I watch those Grumpy Old Men programmes they show around christmas and completely relate...I digress.

So, streetwear is dead. What, you didn't know?! Well it is, and The Hundreds killed it. Okay so thats perhaps a little glib but you get the picture.
As someone who has subscribed to this 'scene' for a while now i've become entirely disillusioned by the sheer amount of toss thats been coming out on the market of late. Well, it turns out that lots of other people feel the same. You used to see someone rocking a dope tee and know that in all probability you will have something in common with that person in terms of musical, artistic or cultural interests. Now the market is saturated, every chav, try-hard and 2-bit punt is parading round your local town centre, top-to-toe in all over print shite and t-shirts emblazoned with 80's American pop-culture references. Maybe i'm a snob (I'm definitely a snob) but I don't care to allign myself with these people. Nice clothes are cool, new kicks are nice, and there is still a lot of HEAT out there but i'll be damned if i'm gonna camp outside Foot Patrol overnight to get the new colourway hyperstrike x Atmos x Wu Tang Air Max 1's because Lupe has them in his new video. Seeing as this is turning into a rant rather than a well constructed argument i'll refer you to Steven 'Streetwear God' Vogels departing letter to Hypebeast. He articulates his ideas far better than i could so go check it out here.
